Have You Heard? This Sedan is All-New for 2019 ...

The redesign of the Altima is apparent at first look. With new curves and lines creating a sportier sense of styling, the 2019 Altima also rides lower and is slightly wider and longer than its previous editions. Inside, the cabin is similarly restyled and made slightly more spacious and comfortable, important factors for an everyday vehicle here in the Alexandria and Manassas area.

Nissan cancels the previously available V-6 engine upgrade, replacing it with a smarter and more efficient turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that still offers a welcome boost in performance over the base level engine (which is the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder found in the previous versions). The 2019 Altima is actually a groundbreaking car, as it becomes the first Nissan with available AWD, so if you want better traction, control and stability when driving on slick road surfaces around Vienna and Springfield, that's a great option to have.

Finally, the available Nissan ProPilot Assist suite has already been offered in some other models, but now makes its appearance in higher trims of the Altima. This series of cameras, radars and sensors work to keep you traveling at safe speeds at safe distances from vehicles in front of you, while keeping you in your lane. When working together, these sensors provide a semi-autonomous driving function, which is especially helpful in slow-moving highway traffic near Washington D.C. and Centreville.

Turbocharged Performance and Capabilities Available

With the additions of the available turbocharged engine and an optional AWD system, the new 2019 Altima is as exciting as ever. Not to be overlooked by these new options, the base level 2.5-liter four-cylinder still offers a smooth 188-horsepower performance, while earning up to 38 mpg on the highway. That makes for a perfectly reliable and sensible commuter to get to work and back home again in the Fairfax and Washington D.C. areas. Consider the engine upgrade or the available AWD system - which is only offered with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder setup - for variations on an overall strong and sporty sense of drivability in your new 2019 Nissan Altima.

Advanced Technology & More Technology Comes Standard

The ProPilot Assist suite, offered in higher trims, will give you the most comprehensive set of driver aids available for the new Altima, but there are plenty of others that come standard to help you out. Standard forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking start you out nicely, with upgrades offered in higher trims.

For staying connected, the new 2019 Altima offers easy to use touchscreen controls, smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a rearview camera, Bluetooth and much more. Higher trims give you the upgrades where it counts, with your sound equipment and other functions.
